Recommended Attractions

Don't miss these Tokyo experiences

Tested, walked, eaten and photographed by a Tokyo local. These are the experiences I send my friends to first.

View

Tokyo Metropolitan Building

Free observation deck on the 45th floor — the best free Tokyo skyline view, day or night.

Culture

Meiji Shrine (明治神宮)

A forested Shinto shrine in the middle of Harajuku. Wash your hands, walk the gravel path, breathe.

Food

Tsukiji Outer Market

Skip the lines — go early, eat tamagoyaki and grilled scallops on a stick. Real Tokyo breakfast.

Night

Omoide Yokocho (思い出横丁)

Tiny smoky yakitori alley behind Shinjuku Station. Squeeze in, order beer, point at the menu.

Walk

Yanaka Ginza (谷中銀座)

An old shopping street where retired locals shop for croquettes. Tokyo, slowed down.

Modern

teamLab Planets

Walk barefoot through water-filled rooms of digital art. Book online — it sells out fast.

About the Guide

Hi, I'm Go.
Welcome to my Tokyo.

I was born and raised in Tokyo, and I've spent years walking its alleys, riding its trains and slowly building a list of the places I'd actually take a friend visiting for the first time.

"Tokyo isn't one city — it's two hundred small ones connected by trains. The fun is finding which one is yours."

My travel philosophy is simple: slow down, look up, eat where the locals eat. This site collects the spots, the routes and the stories I share most often — written for travelers who want more than a checklist.

My personal favorites

The spots, snacks and quiet corners I keep coming back to. Bookmark these — they're the ones that make Tokyo feel like home.

Hidden Spot

Nezu Shrine (根津神社)

A miniature Fushimi Inari in Tokyo. Vermillion torii tunnel without the Kyoto crowds.

Coffee

Kissaten in Jimbocho

Smoke-stained ceilings, hand-dripped coffee, leather chairs that haven't moved since 1972.

View

Kachidoki Bridge at dusk

Cross over the Sumida River, look back, and the entire skyline lights up at once.

Snack

Lawson's karaage-kun

Don't laugh — convenience-store fried chicken nuggets are a Tokyo food group.
